New $25,000 Grant Helps American-Bred Horses Train and Compete in Europe..... Dr. Anne Ramsay's Legacy
It has been Dr. Anne Barlow Ramsay's (FL) vision to enhance the sport of dressage. Now, she transforms that dream into action with a newly established $25,000 annual Grant, administered by The Dressage Foundation. The purpose is to showcase talented American-bred horses ridden by United States citizens to train and compete in Europe.
Horse and Rider applicants will be competing successfully at Prix St. Georges or higher, and demonstrate the ability to move forward into High Performance competition. Further, the successful applicants will demonstrate an ability to be ambassadors for the American-bred horse in Europe.
"A brochure which describes the new 'Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Annual $25,000 Grant,' can be read, and printed out, from our website, www.dressagefoundation.org," said John Boomer, President and CEO of The Dressage Foundation. Boomer adds, "The brochure gives detailed application information and requirements. Interested applicants should find all of the information they need on our website, but can contact me if they have questions."
The Dressage Foundation's new brochure about the Ramsay Grant, is jam-packed with other useful information about Dr. Ramsay, her "Renaissance Woman" life, the creative structure of her charitable gift, its tax advantages for her, the "good" it has done to-date, her plans to establish a second similar gift in January 2009, and the "good" it will do for the sport of dressage, on out into perpetuity. "The Dressage Foundation is very proud of its work with Dr. Ramsay to develop this powerful, distinctive charitable gift, and grateful to her for the gift's remarkable longevity -- it will be helping Dressage riders and American-bred horses far out into future years," said Boomer. |
