Hilda Gurney (CA)

Based in Moorpark, California at Keenridge Farm, Hilda is an active competitor, breeder, trainer and judge. Hilda is a graduate of California State University - Northridge with a BA in Biology and Chemistry and has teaching credentials in elementary education and special education.

Hilda and her self-trained horse, Keen, were members of the bronze medal team at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, and were also members of the U.S. team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Hilda also achieved an individual gold and silver, and three team gold medals at the Pan Am Games. She placed 7th in a World Championship and is a 6-time national champion at the Grand Prix Level. Additionally, Hilda has been a national eventing champion and a three-time USDF dressage competition breeder of the year.

Hilda and Keen have both been inducted into the United States Dressage Federation Hall of Fame.

Hilda was involved in the founding of the California Dressage Society and has served on numerous committees of USDF, USEF, and The Dressage Foundation.
