2017 Aspden Fund Grant Recipient: Miya Higgins

I would like to thank The Dressage Foundation for giving me the opportunity to train with Sarah Martin. With the Cynthia Aspden grant, I was able to attend three clinics with Sarah and her husband Clayton. Sarah Martin is truly amazing and had helped me become a more connected rider. I have learned how to adjust my position to help my horse, Danser, stay balanced. Sarah showed me techniques to help with my position and seat. She showed me how to help my horse become more supple and relaxed by keeping my body position balanced. By staying balanced, even and correct, Danser was able to do the same.  This was such a wonderful opportunity and I will continue to learn and train with Sarah. I have applied all that I learned to our daily practice and it is amazing to see the growth we have had. I cannot thank the donors to the Cynthia Aspden Fund enough. It was such a great opportunity and I am honored to have been selected.
