Team Tate Academy Welcomed as a TDF Corporate Sustaining Partner

The Dressage Foundation is delighted to welcome and thank Team Tate Academy for becoming a Corporate Sustaining Partner.

Team Tate Academy is a USDF accredited online dressage training program led by Jessica Jo “JJ” Tate, a very familiar figure in the U.S. high-performance arena. JJ has long been a protege of author, judge and USDF Hall of Fame horseman Charles de Kunffy, and her Team Tate Academy programs are inspired by his academy at the Royal Hungarian Spanish Riding School in Budapest, Hungary.  “Having had Charles as a mentor for over 30 years, I’ve loved hearing about his experiences, and I’ve imagined this magical idea of an Academy to honor his legacy! I intended to build special classrooms and offices at our farm, but of course 2020 brought the opportunity to give the program an online format.”

Team Tate Academy’s programs include:

  • Weekly video riding demonstrations with commentary in which JJ tells what she is doing and why. She explains what your horse should feel like and what exercises can help. JJ trouble shoots problems and personally answers your questions;
  • Monthly lectures on theory and interpersonal skills;
  • Monthly virtual or in-person lessons;
  • Bi-weekly tack-room chats with JJ’s hand-selected proteges;
  • Free auditor passes for educational events at JJ’s Blue Ridge Farm in Landrum, SC;
  • Powerful community support via Team Tate TV,
  • Free Facebook Group.

In the future, a leadership program will be incorporated for select students. “My wish,” says JJ, “is that riders come away with a deeper understanding of all the classical concepts.”

President and CEO of The Dressage Foundation, Beth Baumert said, “JJ brings a wonderful spirit to everything she does, and the fact that her Academy is online enables dressage students from all over the U.S. and beyond to benefit. TDF is proud to welcome her as a Corporate Sustaining Partner.”

Team Tate Academy is operated with the assistance of Catherine Respess and her team at Red Mare Enterprises. To learn more about creating a trusting partnership with your horse, no matter where you are on your path to achieving mastery, visit
