One of my favorite horses was Benjamin River (aka Benji). He was an Anglo-Arabian gelding who, although very forward and willing, was almost bomb-proof. When I went to the barn in the morning, he would greet me eagerly as if saying, "What fun thing are we going to do today?" Sadly, he colicked at the age of 16 and only survived for several hours after surgery.
Everybody who knew him loved him. He was a gem!
