Team #533: Jim McNutt and Monet

In October 2021, on the grounds of Winds Reach Farm, Iowa City, IA, Jim McNutt DVM, rode Training Level, Test 1, on Monet, a lovely 25-year-old chestnut American Warmblood mare.  Monet is homebred, as well as her sire, grandam, and great-grandam. Jim can remember holding Monet as a newborn foal. Jim has ridden all his life, largely self-taught. Riding relaxes him, but Jim does not amble. He likes to ride and drive his horses with a purpose whether it’s in the first flight of North Hills Hunt, working cows, or horse-drawn farm work. Jim credits his partner Susan Brigham for polishing his test, and he has a new appreciation for his dressage riding clients after maneuvering numerous 20-meter circles. He blames Deb Galbraith and Kate Köstenbader for instigating "the whole thing."

Jim and Monet completed Training Level, Test 1, on October 27, 2021 for their Century Club membership.
