Barbara Laiken and Pipe Creek Pebbles (MD)
Barbara had never shown in dressage prior to doing this test. Even though she is new to dressage, Barbara has always loved horses. She even wanted to be one when she was little! She spent her early years as a barn rat and didn’t own her first horse until she was 40 years old. Her daughter wanted to start riding lessons, so she decided to as well. Then Barbara met her friend Pam, who introduced her to Pony Club, and the rest is history. Pam opened a whole new world for Barbara. Barbara and Pam served as District Commissioner and Co-District Commissioner for 10 years.
Pebbles was purchased by Pam for her youngest daughter in 2010 from the McNemar family. Pebbles is a New Forest/Arabian cross (Wicked Courtjester x Lightning).
The folks in the picture are Barbara's daughter Jessie, Cynthia McNemar, Pam and her daughter Shelby, and of course Barbara aboard Pebbles. Cynthia and her sister Christina were members of Green Spring Hounds Pony Club.
