Although I was born and raised in California, I suffered from wanderlust and left after college graduation. I have lived in France, Norway, Cleveland, Phoenix, Alaska, and Washington, D.C. I car camped out of an MGB for six months while traveling around Europe (learning to travel light!).
I always knew I wanted to ride horses. I bought my first saddle in 1969, but riding was a dream deferred until I retired in 2013. I now take riding lessons twice a week. I have a chestnut mare (nuff said!) that can’t be ridden but with whom I do liberty work. We compete in Cowboy Dressage, and I am beginning in-hand/trail obstacles.
I am now back in the family home in Sacramento, California. My retirement has turned out much differently than I expected – I began a second career as a cowgirl!
