I started riding at five years old. Valdemar came into my life 15 years ago. He was an Eventer, and I was just getting back to riding after a 40-year sabbatical. I had been in the market for a partner for fox hunting and dressage in the off-season. Though Valdemar had extensive dressage training, I was a beginner. Because he is such a willing and patient partner, I have been able to learn and enjoy the discipline with this amazing horse.
Training for our Century Club ride has been such a milestone for us as a very seasoned partnership. I am hopeful we still have many more years together to continue to advance through the levels of dressage. He is the love of my life and has given me the most thrilling as well as rewarding moments I could never have imagined to be possible after reaching 60 years of age.
