A pulled ligament and a broken hip nearly derailed my dream of a Century Club ride on my long-time mount, Clarabelle, registered as Classique. We both came through, and my spicy little 25-year-old Andalusian won her class at a recognized show. Clarabelle was bred by Bettina Drummond in CT and was very well trained by Georges Malleroni and Lendon Gray to Fourth Level. I worked with Rochelle McPerson for many years and, most recently, with Mary McCarthy, who prepared us for this, our last hurrah in the show ring. Now Clarabelle and I will enjoy relaxed trail riding.
