Eileen Keipper was born in Connecticut and raised on a dairy farm. She received her first horse as a birthday present when she was eleven years old. Except for the years when she was in college and graduate school, she has owned at least one horse ever since.
She married Vincent in 1975, and they raised three boys to be successful, happy adults. They have one granddaughter. Trained as a psychologist, Eileen worked part time while raising her children. In addition to loving horses, Vince and Eileen love to travel and have visited 43 countries. She also likes to read and work puzzles.
In 1998, Eileen and Vince bought a small horse farm, where they still live. Eileen has competed in hunter/jumpers, three-day eventing, dressage, and working equitation. She has owned Emilia, a 24-year-old Andalusian, for 15 years, training her from basic walk/trot work to Fourth Level dressage. Eileen has earned many awards, including a first-place team finish at the USTA East Coast Championships for eventing. She loves musical freestyles and has won regional championships at First and Second Level with other horses. She and Emilia also competed at the National Championships in Third Level musical freestyle.
She attributes Emilia’s health and athletic ability at this age to classic dressage training which helps the horse be straight and supple. She attributes her own health at this age to farm work and riding, which also make her straight and supple.
