Several years ago, in between horses, I had the opportunity to ride an Arabian/Friesian cross named Dixie. She was boarded at Toad Hollow Farm in Charlottesville, Virginia, by her owner, Karen. Dixie had been found by Karen hanging out in a field. After purchasing her, Karen discovered how talented Dixie was in dressage.
Lessons on Dixie improved my knowledge and understanding of dressage. Dixie has done jousting, reenactments of medieval times, working equitation, teaching kids to ride, and lots of trail rides. Dixie is a kind and giving mare, and I so appreciate her and Karen for allowing me this opportunity to complete my Century Club ride!
