I started my riding journey after my daughter, wife, and youngest daughter started riding. I thought it looked like fun and wanted to join in. I have found it to be a rewarding and engaging experience that I have enjoyed for over twenty years.
My current partner, Pinky (Dawn Flight), is my second horse. We found him to be big enough for me and reliable enough for the kids. Now, 17 years later, it is just my wife and I who ride him regularly. To commemorate my and Christina Webber’s induction into the Century Club, my trainer, Cathy Echternach, arranged a barn show on April 26, 2025, with Evelyn Martin judging. I signed up for a test along with other boarders. We decided we would make it a celebration for the barn.
Pinky was a little confused about why everyone was cheering us on, but he liked the attention.
We ended up being the high score for the show, and with my 75 years and Pinky’s 26 years, we are very proud. Thanks to everyone at the barn for making it our best show ever. Thanks to Cathy Echternach for the years of training and support for me, my family, and the horses.
