I rode horses up until I started college but then waited over 20 years before getting back into riding. I was almost 40 when I met a woman at a scuba diving training who had horses and she invited me to ride with her (we are still friends). Within a year I had bought a horse and started eventing, trail riding and foxhunting. I was hooked! I managed to enjoy my horseback riding events while working as a CPA in the tax department of a large global public accounting firm.
Baby was given to me by a very good friend in 2008. Baby is a Shire/Appendix Quarter Horse gelding and the best boy ever. We evented, fox hunted, trail ridden, and even done a little TREC (international equestrian trail sport). He is honest, responsible, confident, and open to almost anything! He is definitely my heart horse.
Now that I am retired, we ride regularly although it is mostly trail riding. Baby still has a lot of get up ang go and enjoys the occasional gallop. For the Century Club ride my young cousin braided his mane and tail with baby’s breath and white roses. He looked magnificent and he didn’t let me down in the dressage arena. I can’t believe we have been able to become a member of The Dressage Foundation’s Century Club. It is such an honor, and it is all thanks to Baby!!
