As a life-time horse enthusiast, I have been associated with area horse communities for many years and currently belong to USDF and the Brazos Association for Classical Horsemanship (BACH). I have been volunteering and a GMO member since 2007.

Since my retirement in 2013, I have spent more time riding and supporting equestrian sports for future generations.  I am currently riding Luckys Special Dee, barn name Armani, who was my equine partner for the Century Club ride.  My trainer is Donna Meyer, who owns and operates “On the Bit Farm,” a boarding and training facility for English and Western dressage. Donna is a USDF Certified instructor, Grand Prix rider, USDF bronze and silver medalist, and an “r” USEF judge and a “R” WDAA/USEF judge. She has instructed me in dressage for more than five years.  Armani is her schooling dressage horse. He is a 23-year-old Buckskin gelding that competed in various disciplines over the years. He has a wonderfully smooth sitting trot, an easy canter, and it is a real privilege to show him in a lower-level virtual dressage show!

At age 77, I still wake up every morning looking forward to riding. I also ride trail horses of different breeds that belong to a close local friend and others through my membership in the North American Trail Ride Conference.  I compete in the leisure division and hope I can continue both disciplines for many more years!
