One of my earliest memories is of sitting on a Tennessee Walker when I was three years old. I was hooked! My father bought ponies for my sister and me when I was seven, and we had tons of fun riding all over our neighborhood for many years. I had no formal training, but I had a marvelous time.
My first formal training came in my 20s for a few years, but due to a demanding career, I did not ride very much until I retired in my 60s. I was lucky to find Barrett Farm in Orlando, and have been privileged to ride their amazing horse, Cash, for the past several years.
Cash’s career started as a very successful Grand Prix jumper in Germany, where he also received dressage training. He is in incredible shape thanks to the remarkable care he has been given by Barrett, and I look forward to many more years together with him.
The world-renowned international dressage judge, Anne Gribbons, often conducts dressage workshops at our barn. This spring she came just after Cash and I had birthdays which got us to the century mark. Anne graciously agreed to judge our Century Club ride, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled and grateful! It was certainly a special day I shall never forget.
