My parents first put me on a horse at the age of two and a half, then I began begging for a horse. My Dad promised me a horse when I finished 6th grade, believing of course that I would have outgrown that 'phase.' I didn't.
I was fortunate that the US Pony Club had come to my hometown, and I finished with my 'B' rating before heading to college.
In 2004, I was lucky to find my dream horse in Santana, a Dutch Warmblood, whom I imported from Holland. My job took me all over the world. Santana has taken three trips across the Atlantic and two across the Pacific.
In 2019, I retired and moved to Texas and began training with Laura Boone at Towns Mill Equestrian in Georgetown. With the encouragement of a fantastic group of women, Santana and I started to prepare for our Century Club ride. On March 14, 2026, we became the first Century Club team at our barn!
I am forever grateful to my companion of 22 years and to the people who always encouraged us to improve.
