I have ridden since I was six years old, and while growing up, I enjoyed years of fun and competitive riding. My favorite activities included eventing, fox hunting, dressage and trail riding.
I got Toby when I retired in 2007. He was a frisky four-year-old and was to be (and has become) my trusty old-lady horse. While I gave up on serious competing, I do love a goal, and “joining” the Century Club seemed like a fun and challenging one for me as I “matured.”
I turned 80 this year, and Toby is now 23. Both of us are a bit stiff (and me, a bit lame), but we still enjoy trail rides and dressage exercises to keep Toby supple. He is an Irish Draft/Arabian cross and is my amigo, confidant, and therapist. I aspire to put our relationship first, and Toby tries his best to do whatever I may be trying to ask of him. So glad to be a new member of the Century Club and appreciate my incredibly supportive friends and family. It does take a village!
