I was honored and privileged to complete my Century Club ride on July 25, 2026, at the beautiful Otter Creek Farm in Wheeler, Wisconsin. Friends and family were there to join in on the fun, and a special shout out to Jodi Ely who judged the ride. She made it even more of a special occasion with her positive energy and great humor.
I started my riding career in my 40s back it the day before any online education, and because I lived in a fairly remote area in British Columbia, Canada, my lessons and learning mostly came from the British Pony Club Manual. I’m sure I read it back to front a thousand times.
When I moved to Minnesota 20 years ago, I was able to continue my riding with great coaches and clinics. I am so grateful to my mentors.
Last but not least I must give a shout-out to Hope Floats aka Gladys, my beautiful Friesian sport horse. She was a green, rising four-year-old when she came into my life, so for 20 years she has been spicy, funny, and most of all enduringly patient. She is truly my heart horse, and at 23.5 years old she tells me she is just getting started.
