I first saw SV Jazzy Love Jingles, aka Jazzy, trotting beside her mother when she was one day old. Her floating trot and oversized ears caught my attention, plus I knew her mother well.
When Jazzy was weaned at five months, I took over her care. I had two elementary school-aged boys who were becoming more involved in travel soccer teams, as well as a full-time job as a chemist. This left little time for Jazzy other than grooming and groundwork for the next five years. I finally got on her when she was five but was still busy, so it wasn’t until she was eight that I finally started riding and working with her more consistently.
We dabbled in dressage, jumping, and trail riding. She has always been a willing participant except when she is alone on the trail. She prefers to have another horse to keep a lookout either in front or behind her. She is now 30 years young on two Prascend a day for PPID and one Equioxx a day for arthritis. She has never been friendly toward other horses until the last few years when she met her best friend, Zoey. At this point, we primarily go on walks with some trotting, and she looks forward to any treats coming her way.
