My name is Priscilla Salzano, and I will be 82 in August. My love for horses began when I was 47 years old. While on vacation at a guest ranch in Arizona, I had the opportunity to ride, and when I returned home, I knew I wanted horses to become part of my life.
That decision led me to Windswept Farm, where I have ridden for many years and had the privilege of learning from my instructor, Michaela Scanlon. She has been a wonderful teacher and has helped me to continue to learn, grow, and appreciate riding in a way I never expected.
Over the years, I have ridden many horses at the barn and loved every one of them. For the past eight years, I have been riding Anne Lynn, who is now 20 years old. She has a very big personality and has taught me how important it is to pay attention, listen, and ride her correctly. We have shared a meaningful connection over the years.
Together, Anne Lynn and I are a combined age of 101. Because I started riding later in life, I have appreciated every minute in the saddle. Riding has brought me joy, purpose, and gratitude, and I hope there are many more rides ahead.
