I am 73 years old and have been riding since I was three years old. My goal has always been to ride until I am 100!
I was able to do my Century Club ride thanks to Betty, the 27-year-old horse I rode. Betty was my horse for about 13 years after a boarder left her to me because she wasn't paying board. I sold her to her dear owner, Debbie, about 13 years ago. They have been boarding at my barn for the past five years. Debbie and Betty are a good pair, laid-back and happy!
I have earned my USDF bronze medal. I'm trying to get my silver medal on the 12-year-old I raised. We are almost to Fourth Level. I will continue to ride until I can't get on a horse. I have had a knee replacement and both shoulders, but one doesn't give up after those surgeries. Ride to your dreams is my motto!
