Toni Forslund and BCF Captain (IN)
Team #1053: Toni Forslund and BCF Captain
From: Mooresville, Indiana
Ages 79 & 23
Combined Age: 102
Test: Training Level Test 3
Toni Forslund started riding at the age of 11 at the local livery stable. Watching the Indiana State Fair horse show sparked her lifelong passion for equestrian competition. In her youth, she trained in hunter jumpers, saddle seat, western, and rode horses at multiple different barns in the Indianapolis area. Her first horses were half-Arabs and then Morgans, and she competed in Class A Morgan shows and local Indiana Saddle Horse Association shows in saddle seat and western. Toni has owned several horses across many decades, and, outside of the show ring, one of her favorite pastimes has also been to trail ride and camp in state and national parks with her husband, T.K. Toni has most recently shown in First Level dressage as an Adult Amateur with her Arabian-Saddlebred, Fresco.
Toni’s mount for her Century Club ride is BCF Captain, a 2002 Cleveland Bay gelding owned by Daniel and Katherine Stickney of Indianapolis, Indiana, who has been trail ridden, evented, and shown in dressage. In 2025, BCF Captain was the Cleveland Bay Horse Society of North America champion and Indiana Dressage Society reserve champion at First Level with Katherine. Toni took over his reins in 2026, and they completed Training Level Test 3 for their Century Club ride. Congratulations to them both, with special thanks to Diane Hess for support and coaching.
