R U 4 Me, bred by Hannah Heritage (VA) and owned and ridden by Molly Martin (AZ), received this first $5,000 award as the highest-scoring U.S.-bred horse in Developing Prix St. Georges Championship at the recent U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions. The owner and breeder will each receive $2,500.
Molly Martin, owner and rider of R U 4 Me, said, “It’s such an honor to receive the inaugural Dr. Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Award for U.S.-Bred Horses at the Festival of Champions. It was such a special moment to have it presented by TDF and Barbara Cadwell. I wish Dr. Barlow Ramsay was here to witness it herself. I have always taken pride in owning U.S.-bred horses and bringing them happily up to the highest level in sport.”
Hannah Heritage, breeder of R U 4 Me, said, “It was exciting to hear that R U 4 Me received this award. Breeding is a labor of love with such dedication to producing offspring that can be successful in performance. I am very grateful to Molly for her efforts in developing him to his fullest potential. I also can't thank Barbara Cadwell enough for supporting U.S. breeding with this award. It is exciting for the future of our sport.”
The Dr. Anne L. Barlow Ramsay Grant Fund was established at The Dressage Foundation in 2008 by Dr. Barlow Ramsay to fulfill her desire to support U.S.-bred horses that are competing on the international dressage stage. Since 2008, 13 recipients have been awarded a $25,000 grant for training or competition, including those who have successfully competed at the highest level of the sport. The new $5,000 awards were established in 2025
