TDF Announces Recipient of $2,500 P.R.E./Pure Spanish Horses Fund Grant

The Dressage Foundation (TDF) is pleased to announce that the 2025 recipient of its $2,500 Pure Spanish Horse/Pura Raza Española (P.R.E.) Fund grant is Stacey Hastings (NC) with Estatan LHE.

Stacey Hastings has decades of experience in the dressage world as well as a long history with the P.R.E. breed. She is a USDF gold, silver, and bronze medalist and a USDF Certified Instructor through the FEI Levels. Estatan LHE is a 10-year-old P.R.E. stallion owned and trained by Stacey. He is currently ranked as the number one USPRE in the Grand Prix. With her grant funding, Stacey will train with Julio Mendoza on a weekly basis, with the goal of competing in the Grand Prix competition in the CDI ring.

Stacey said, “Estatan LHE came into my life through tragedy and an act of selflessness. My beautiful friend Michele Inman, after being diagnosed with cancer, gave her magnificent P.R.E. Horse stallion to me. This year, Estatan and I started competing at Grand Prix. This is what Michele wanted for him, as do I.  We will use this grant to further our training, helping us to be the best we can be together at Grand Prix. My goal is to have Estatan feel happy, confident, and solid at this level. Thank you so much to TDF and all the donors for selecting Estatan and me for the P.R.E. Horse grant! I know Michele is smiling.”

The purpose of this Fund is to celebrate and promote the Pure Spanish Horse/P.R.E. as upper-level dressage horses because of the breed’s natural abilities, talent, and disposition. Thanks to generous donors, one annual $2,500 grant will be given to a professional, adult amateur, or Young Rider (over the age of 16) competing at Prix St. Georges (or Young Rider equivalent) or higher. The deadline to apply is November 10. Information about the Fund and the online application are available at www.dressagefoundation.org.
