The Dressage Foundation (TDF) and Novella Equestrian are pleased to announce a new contest and opportunity for TDF donors: the TDF x Novella Equestrian “Treasured Horses” Shirt Contest.
Novella Equestrian, founded and owned by Taryn Young, is a riding apparel brand and small business that specializes in thoughtfully designed shirts, breeches, and more inspired by real horses and their stories. With a focus on high-quality, inclusive apparel, Novella is dedicated to helping riders feel confident both in and out of the saddle.
One donor to TDF's “Treasured Horses, Treasured Teachers” fundraiser, which benefits TDF's Riding School Fund, will win the chance to have a new Novella Equestrian sunshirt named after their treasured horse. The winning design will feature the horse's name (for example: The "Dakota"), and the horse's story will be shared throughout the dressage community.
The “Treasured Horses, Treasured Teachers” fundraiser celebrates the horses who have carried, taught, and inspired riders throughout their dressage journeys. Every donation supports TDF's Riding School Fund, which provides grants to riding schools and lesson programs to help them remain open, care for their lesson horses, and introduce new riders to the sport.
Anyone who donates $25 or more to the “Treasured Horses, Treasured Teachers” fundraiser on or before August 31, 2026, will automatically receive one entry into the contest. Previous donors through this fundraiser and to the Riding School Fund will also be automatically entered.
Following the August 31 deadline, representatives from TDF and Novella Equestrian will select finalists. Public voting will then take place to choose the winning horse.
