My heart swelled as Honey took me down this memorable center line. A gift only your horse knows how to give you. It was an honor to share this Century Club ride with the most honest, kind and sweetest horse I have ever had the pleasure to ride.
The memories:
Honey and I met when she was three and my teen daughter Emily was ready for a younger horse.
JDS Secret Agent received her barn name when Emily wanted to name her after a James Bond girl agent. Guess what? In his first movie, Dr No, that agent’s name was “Honey Rider!” How perfect, so Honey it was. She certainly has lived up to her name because she is the sweetest horse in the world.
I cannot thank this mare enough for all she has given me over the past 20 years. From carrying my daughter safely and victoriously to many blue ribbons in her show classes, to our 5th place in the Masters class at the World Championships. To the care she gave to each and every student she safely taught to ride. They all loved her and showered her with kisses and hugs and thousands of peppermints. To the sweet greetings she gives me each day as I care for her in her retirement. Two old ladies enjoying our quiet days with easy rides.
Thank you, Honey, for all your care and love over the past 20 years. It will be my pleasure to return that care and love to you for the rest of your life, with lots of kisses and hugs and of course, peppermints.
