2023 Major Anders Lindgren Instructor Grant Recipient: Ashley Minea (PA)

What an incredible experience I had and how absolutely thankful I am to have had this opportunity. I spent three months in Wellington, Florida, training with Kasey Perry Glass, with my new horse Dietoria. My longtime partner Lorenzo had a career ending injury which abruptly ended our plans to make it to Grand Prix. I then partnered with Dietoria.

Like with all new partnerships, it can take time and patience to develop. I am grateful for my time spent with Kasey learning the ins and outs of this new horse while training and competing in the Intermediate 2.

My biggest takeaway was preparing and executing the pirouettes. With a clear training plan and exercises, I was able to be more precise with my aids and be able to prepare much faster to have a better set up and placement. What was once very hard for me became so much clearer with such a great coach. With all the training I received I am very confident I can continue my journey to the Grand Prix. All the information and training exercises I gathered these past three months elevated my training standard. I have a renewed sense of correctness and a clearer approach to training my clients and their horses. Thank you so much to all the TDF donors!!!
